3D printing is coming, and it’s coming fast. Gone are the days where things could only be manufactured by specific processes and specialised workshops. Soon, there will be a 3D printer in every household. This technology has so rapidly evolved, that even NASA’s Orion spacecraft has been built using 3D printed parts. The purpose of this webinar is to highlight the past, current and future potential uses of these techniques. In addition we aim to highlight the impending downfalls of using these methods without the appropriate knowledge and experience, where the likely failures might arise from and what to look for when involved with a claim involving 3D printing.

This class will provide an overview of the processes defined as 3D printing and additive manufacturing and their potential effects in the industrial world across diverse areas such as aerospace, automotive, healthcare and manufacturing.

This course is designed for insurance claim adjusters, in-house counsel and legal professionals handling claims resulting from vehicle accidents. Vehicle accidents can be extremely catastrophic in terms of cost and liability, therefore it is important for claims professionals involved with vehicle claims to fully understand how to incorporate Vehicle Accident Reconstruction (VAR) into their claims and litigation management strategies. Following participation in this course, attendees will develop an understanding of how experts determine pre-impact vehicle speeds, seat belt usage, and head light /turn signal illumination at impact. This is beneficial for insurance claims professionals when determining liability and recovery options.

Case studies involving VAR and the use of digital forensics in distracted driving cases are discussed in this webinar and focus on the urgency and importance of preserving potentially critically pertinent evidence including the information that should be gathered from cell phones before, during and immediately after an accident. We will discuss how that can be used by insurance professionals and attorneys when adjusting and litigating these types of VAR claims.

An ACTAR Certified vehicle accident reconstructionist will also expose attendees to advanced hardware and software technology used to assist in reconstructing heavy truck, passenger vehicle, motorcycle, and pedestrian collisions.
