Recently there has been changes in the rules regarding their use.  During this webinar, we will cover some of the changes and, more importantly, some of the hazards associated with PMDs.

Aside from issues related to collisions with pedestrians, there are several fire related issues with PMDs.  We will address several of these issues and the associated impacts that a relatively simple and inexpensive transportation device failure can have.  Case studies will be used to highlight real world scenarios.

The class is designed for both adjusters and attorneys and will touch on current issues with extrapolation models, allocation, and inference – looking at the subjective versus scientific approach.  Also to be discussed include issues with construction defects attributed to the unqualified and inexperienced workforce, defects arising during the design phase, the use of alternate means, as well as a discussion on dealing with the document dump.  The course will include a fluid discussion between a construction defect attorney and expert as the above topics, and more will be reviewed.

Following the delivery of building code presentation, it was clear that adjusters (and attorneys) rely upon experts in interpreting and understanding the concepts presented within model building codes, standards, and regulations.  However, these codes and standards are often misunderstood and improperly interpreted.  This presentation will draw a line in the sand to aid clients’ understanding of the building codes and know when to engage an expert.  Consider this an intermediate/advanced course on building codes – following up on one of our existing courses.
