Last Hires of the Year! Envista Welcomes Four new Experts in December

20 January 2023

As 2022 came to a close, we ended the year strong with the addition of four new experts joining Envista. In the month of December, three new Project Engineers were brought on board in the United States and one new Project Engineer was brought on board in Australia.

Meet Envista’s Newest Additions!

Dee Ramamoorthy, B.E(Civil), M.E(Structural), PhD Candidate MIEAust, PE000241

Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Melbourne, Australia)

Dee Ramamoorthy is an accomplished Structural engineer in Melbourne with diversified experience in the building industry specializing in forensic investigations and structural designs. She specializes in analyzing the failure of building systems, determining the cause of failures, evaluating the quality of construction, and reviewing design or maintenance procedures, structural asset condition assessment, and rehabilitation of existing structural assets. Dee’s technical experience includes consultation, acting as an expert witness in the court of law serving the insurance/legal industries, to present and supporting engineering investigation reports. At Envista, Dee leverages her extensive industry experience to identify, analyze and remediate damages resulting from structural or building defects, and insurable events such as fires, storms, vehicle impacts, and other natural disasters.

Fun Fact: When you speak of any country, the first thing that strikes your mind is the bridges! That was my childhood aspiration. I always wanted to be a civil/structural engineer to build/bridge the world. My favorite part about being an engineer is helping people to satisfy their basic essentials- designing/building/testing a dwelling to live in.

Jack Boyles, PE

Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Richmond, VA)

John “Jack” Boyles is a Project Engineer with 12 years of experience as a structural engineering design consultant. His past roles have included lead engineer and project manager of the structural design team for new construction and renovation projects in the educational, commercial, residential, and civic industries. He has design experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood materials on his projects. Jack is a licensed professional engineer in the District of Columbia, the State of Maryland, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. At Envista, he provides Civil/Structural forensic support in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Fun Fact:

Even though I’m coming into forensics from the design consulting world, I’ve been involved in a couple of interesting investigations. The most interesting one involved a structural failure of an auditorium roof (thankfully, it was empty at the time of failure). We found errors across the board from the design to the fabrication and erection of the steel roof trusses, which created a ticking clock that eventually counted down to failure.

Michael Novik, PE

Senior Project Engineer, Electrical (Cleveland, OH)

Michael Novik is a Senior Project Engineer with over 20 years of experience and an extensive list of successfully completed projects. A licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York, Michael is experienced in manufacturing support, automation, sensors, PLC/HMI programming, drives, data collection, vacuum and pressure systems, control panel design, vision systems, temperature controlling, computer hardware/software, Lean Manufacturing techniques, and other fields. He is proficient in design and project management and possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Fun Fact: My favorite part about being an engineer is learning about equipment, making things work, and being able to understand how everything around us is created and operates.

Phil Gadsby, CFEI

Senior Consultant, Fire (Los Angeles, CA)

Phil Gadsby is a Senior Fire Explosion Consultant within the Fire and Explosion division at Envista Forensics. With more than 28 years of experience as a Fire and Explosion Investigator, Phil has conducted over 2,500 fire and explosion investigations in both the public and private sectors. He has testified as an expert witness in fire and explosion investigations during deposition and trial proceedings in Federal Court. Phil’s experience encompasses large/complex loss management and investigations that have involved extended-duration deployments and team responses.

Fun Fact: One of the biggest investigations I worked on was in Mamouth Lakes to assist on an arsonist terrorizing the community.
