Envista Forensics’ Digital Forensics Expert Featured in New Docuseries, The Oland Murder
In the summer of 2011, Richard Oland was brutally murdered by suspected and convicted son, Dennis Oland. Dennis was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison in December 2015 but had continued to maintain his innocence and was soon after ordered a retrial by October of 2016.
Envista’s digital forensics expert, Larry Daniel, took part in CBC’s new documentary series, The Oland Murder, following the murder trial of multimillionaire, Richard Oland. Daniel reviewed the call detail records of Richard and Dennis Oland, along with the government’s cellular expert’s testimony and analysis work used in the prosecution. All of which aided in the original conviction. Daniel’s extensive research opined on if the cell location originally documented was in fact accurate.
This four-part documentary series follows Oland’s accused murderer, his family, and investigators of the case during the road to retrial. The Oland Murder documentary series airs in Canada on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
