Basem Salama is a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer with over eight years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in a wide range of projects including residential, industrial, retail, shade sails, and commercial structures. Proficient in structural design, foundation systems, documentation, modeling, site inspections, and project management, Basem has demonstrated expertise in working with various design codes, including Australian, American, and British standards.
Fun Fact: One of the biggest challenges I've faced in my career as an engineer was the remediation of a listed heritage building, it is the Victoria Barracks in South Melbourne. Victoria Barrack had cracks in the outer walls and leakage through the timber roofing area. The challenge was the size of the building as well as the difficulty of access to determine the root cause of the problem and the limitation of proposed solution options considering its value as a heritage-listed building that must be kept in its original state. the investigation has been carried out successfully and the team restored the structural integrity of the building.
