Mr. Joseph Geitgey holds certifications through NAFI and IAAI as a Certified Fire Investigator, a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator, and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator. He has 15 years of experience in commercial and residential structures, heavy equipment, logging equipment, tractor-trailers, and vehicles. His vehicle experience also includes the successful completion of the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) tests, upon which the automotive service industry relies. Mr. Geitgey has a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management and an Associate of Science in Fire Science from the University of Akron. He has performed over 1,000 fire investigations including several international large/complex loss investigations and was a member of the team which investigated multiple wildfires in central Chile in 2017. Mr. Geitgey has also conducted and assisted with live burn training sessions involving structures and vehicles as well as continuing education seminars for both the fire service and insurance industry.
