Mr. Steven Reed, IAAI-CFI, CFEI, CFVI, CFII, is a Senior Principal Consultant for the Fire and Explosion Division, and has 33 years of fire investigation experience. He has personally conducted more than 3,000 fire investigations. Mr. Reed retired from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and has testified as an expert in fire and explosion investigations in both state and federal courts in a number of different jurisdictions. Mr. Reed’s experience includes functioning as the lead investigator in large/complex losses such as an explosion and fire at an oil refinery in Singapore. He has led multiple large losses at apartment complexes and commercial properties under construction, resulting in millions of dollars in damage. He has also worked multiple large processing and manufacturing plants and recently functioned as the Lead Investigator of a commercial building fire in California that led to the second largest loss of life since 2003.Expertise
