Tianjin Explosion CAT Response

August 25, 2015

On Wednesday 19 August, a series of massive explosions occurred in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin. The blasts, which occurred at or near a warehouse for a logistics company in the industrial area of Tianjin, resulted in catastrophic loss of human life with hundreds more injured and devastating property damage throughout the city.

Over a week later, many questions still remain, with the focus continuing to be on health and safety of the thousands of Tianjin residents and first responders in close proximity to potentially dangerous chemical and environmental contamination. Beyond that, substantial fire and structural damage has been incurred across a wide area.

At this time, PT&C|LWG Asia CAT teams are on site in Tianjin, assisting insurers with regard to loss site access and safety considerations.

If you would like to speak with one of our on-site engineers, or would like to engage our team to assist in any claims that you may have, please contact Asia Managing Director, Bruce Swales, at bruce.swales@ptclwg.com or +65 6272 1626.
