Vice President ? Forensic Engineering of West Region with over 16 years of engineering experience. He has designed and managed over 100 commercial projects nationwide using concrete, steel, masonry, and wood materials approaching $1 billion in value. He performed lateral, gravity, and foundation design and detailing of low rise and high rise commercial buildings in high seismic and high windstorm regions. In addition to new construction, he was the project manager of multiple projects requiring the demolition of portions of existing buildings for the attachment of new additions. As part of his experience, he gained extensive knowledge of the International Building Code and California Building Code. He has refined his skills in communication as he interacted closely with architects, general contractors, and other disciplines to foresee and resolve problems both during the design and construction phases. In addition, his forensic cases involved the damage assessments of single and multi-family residential, commercial, and educational facilities. He has assessed damages include water intrusion, construction defects, material defects, collapse, vehicle impacts, wind, hail, and fire. Investigations focused on various building components including foundations, superstructures, building envelopes, roofs, and finishes. His extensive analysis and design experience combined with his educational background enables him to analyze a wide variety of structural problems and failures. He also has experience in hurricane winds, storm surge, and flood. Responsibilities for this work include investigation, failure analysis, damage assessment, structural analysis, technical research, report of findings, and repair designs.
